NEW YORK - September 8 2022, /PRNewswire/Record-breaking tourist arrivals from the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. Israel welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4% rise over 2019, and 71,000 visitors from the United States for August 2022. This represents an increase of 13% from 2019.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) stated that it was exciting to observe an increase in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already surpassing the record-breaking numbers of 2019, he added. "The United States is the top market for Israel inbound tourism. In fact, before the COVID-19 pandemic, we had record-breaking figures of tourist entry month after month. It's a fantastic positive trend that we're happy to see and we anticipate an upward trajectory for years to be."
In line with the United States, Canada is also on track to surpass its tourist arrivals in Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in July 2022 and 6000 in August.
Gal Hana (Consul and Director for Canada, Israel Ministry of Tourism) said that "it is thrilling to observe how Canada's travel to Israel is rebounding." "We aren't too far from our record-setting numbers in 2019 and we anticipate that the growth in travel to Israel will further increase as Canadians remain confident about travelling abroad."
