NEW YORK - September 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -Record-breaking tourist arrivals to the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. Israel welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States for July 2022. This is a four percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This is an increase of 13% over the year before.
Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner. "It is exciting to see a new increase in tourism Israel from the United States. Already reaching the record-breaking numbers in 2019," he stated. "The United States remains our largest market for Israel-bound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak there was a record-breaking number of monthly numbers of tourists entering the country. We are thrilled to witness this change and expect an ongoing upward trend for months, and possibly years.
Canada, which has 7200 tourists visiting the country in July 2022, and 6,000 in August isn't too far behind the United States.
Gal Hana (Consul and Director for Canada, Israel Ministry of Tourism) stated that "it is exciting to watch how Canada's tourist to Israel is booming." "We are not too far away from our record 2019, and we anticipate that the growth in travels to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians feel more confident traveling across the globe."
Israel welcomed over 4.6 million tourists in the year of 2019. 969,600 came of the United States. The country's official reopening for all tourists in May was a success, with more than 600,000.
